Our Story

KDB Farm

KDB Farm is an agricultural enterprise situated in the Northern region of South Africa with the beautiful Loskop Dam Valley in the Sekhukhune District of Limpopo. Bordering the Olifants River, the farm and surrounding area receives a reliable source of irrigation water from the Loskop Dam. The farm has been in family ownership since 1963, thus celebrating more than 50 years of operation.

We strongly believe in solid agricultural and labour practices and therefore firmly hold to the ethics and values promoted by bodies such as SIZA, who focus on sustainable agriculture in South Africa; and Global G.A.P. whose objective is to ensure safe, sustainable agricultural production worldwide.

In all our practices we strive to farm in harmony with nature and balance the biological and chemical use of fertilisers, insecticides, and herbicides.

Our People, Facilities & Environment

KDB Farm’s belief of quality is strictly implemented by the owners and strikes through to all our employees.

The farm offers seasonal employment in the grape and citrus season to the surrounding community and as a best practice we enjoy seeing the same faces return for the various seasons year to year, and we are fortunate for them to be highly familiar and skilled in their position.

We believe that our employees are one of the company’s most valuable resources as produce farming is only as good as the hand that picks at it. KDB Farm has two on-site international standard facilities, namely a grape and citrus pack house. We process and package all our grapes and citrus on the farm, by using the latest technology and skilled workers to ensure a product of excellent quality.

It is our vision to produce high quality grapes and citrus and therefore we have a deep commitment to environmental sustainability in our actions for generations to come. The hot, arid climate, fertile soils, and the abundant fresh water from the Olifant’s river makes this a unique grape production area and likewise the cooler winter months for the citrus.
